Mads Andenas, the former UN Special Rapporteur on arbitrary detention, tells RT that multiple UN bodies have consistently declared the UK’s detention of WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange a violation of international law, after the key witness in his trial has admitted to LYING.

Convicted Icelandic hacker and alleged pedophile Sigurdur Thordarson has reportedly confessed to fabricating his role at WikiLeaks in collaboration with US prosecutors in exchange for immunity, which completely undermines the whole case, Andenas says.

“It fits into a larger picture where authorities don’t take facts or law very seriously,” Andenas said, insisting the UK must not extradite Assange to the US for exercising freedom of speech.
