UK holidaymakers will find out in the next fortnight where they will be allowed to travel once restrictions are dropped – with the regular NHS app acting as a Covid passport.

Transport Sec Grant Shapps has announced that the Covid track-and-trace app will NOT be used to allow summer travel, but info on vaccination and test result status will be used.

Shapps confirmed negotiations were ongoing to make sure the system will be internationally recognised, and stressed the need to be “very cautious” about letting Britons travel freely.
